Yep, today’s my birthday! πŸ™‚ I was gonna put up a new “What If Wednesday” today (I’ve been working on it since last week), but I don’t feel like it. Please be patient with me.

A lot has been happening in my life this year. My mom’s about to remarry, so my family has been in wedding planning mode since February. Also, I feel like I’m at a crossroads. I’ll be 30 next year. I’ve always wanted to own a business, but I’m scared to take the first step. If I don’t do it soon, I feel like I never will.

Maybe I’m putting too much pressure on myself. I don’t know. πŸ™

Sorry for the somber mood. My birthday hasn’t felt special to me for the past few years. It’s more overwhelming than anything.

I’ll try to be cheerful today. After all, I’m still alive. That’s always something to be thankful for. πŸ™‚

Here’s a cake. Everyone take a slice. It’s a magic cake, so it has endless slices. My pretend birthday cake, my rules. πŸ˜›

  1. Happy Birthday!! Hope you have an very nice one!! πŸ™‚

I’ve been feeling a similar way myself with birthdays… but look at you – with so much stuff going on, there’s no need for you to feel like they’re other things to do, at least not so soon!
It may sound like some cheesy thing that everyone says, but it really is true that if something’s meant to happen, it will. Sometimes you can even find yourself in certain positions after only a day, ’cause that’s just how crazy weird life can be.

Take the day to relax if you don’t have anything special planned. I’ve realized, just recently, that doing something simple and nice for a birthday doesn’t ruin the day at all.

  2. Aw, happy birthday, OP! I’ve barely known you but it’s been a pleasure discussing Winx with you! Since you’re feeling a bit under pressure, I hope you have a relaxing day with the people who care about you and congrats to your mom, too!

  3. Happy birthday! 30 is a big one. Just remember, it’s not the number of years that matters, it’s the number of awesome things you did and the number of awesome things you’re planning! And it gives you even more license to throw marshmellows at the girls who post, “I’m 12, am I too old to like Winx Club???” on Tumblr.

  4. HAPPY BIRTHDAY, OP!! (even though this comment’s a day late, but let’s just ignore that, shall we?) I wish I had some advice for you on the starting-a-business front, but I don’t…sorry. Congratulations to your Mom, though! πŸ™‚

Whenever I get super-stressed about stuff, I remind myself that so far, my stressful day survival rate is 100 percent, and that’s really good. Also, don’t forget to just stop and breathe every once in a while.

  5. Hello and happy birthday! I have been following you on Instagram for a while, but, strangely, never visited your blog before. I am glad that I did now.
I can understand how you feel about starting your own bussines, I am not in a position like that, but I know that it is always hard to make that one, first step, whenever you are doing something serious or something not so important. But remember that it is something you really want to do, have self-respect and just take a chance on doing it. Make it natural and it will be okay in the end.
I opened a blog recently and I would be really happy if you would visit it (it has not got many visitors yet…)- http://www.bookofwinx.blogspot.com .
From now on, I will definitely be visiting your blog more regularly. I like it very much. (:
