Today marks the 13th anniversary of Winx Club and now also the Italian television premiere of World of Winx! Time sure flies!
Since Winx premiered when I was almost 16, I don’t consider it part of my childhood. But I still reminisce about watching it on Saturday mornings on 4KidsTV. They knew how to treat Winx Club well. Say what you will about the dub — I don’t like it anymore, to be honest — but at least they aired (and advertised) the show like crazy. I got sick of all the reruns!
Now, I hope the show will come back to the U.S., and I’ll get to hunt for dolls at Toys R Us again. I don’t know if that’ll ever happen, but I haven’t lost hope. Who knows how World of Winx could affect Winx Club‘s future here?
Happy birthday, Winx Club! Here’s to your continued success!
Yep, I’ve been blogging about Winx Club for seven years now. I can’t believe it, either. 😛 A lot has happened — to the series and to me — but I still enjoy being a part of the Winx fanbase. I’m looking forward to the next few years with World of Winx, season eight, a new movie, and whatever else Rainbow has in the works.
Yesterday, I passed another milestone: 1,000 Likes on Facebook! Thank you so much, you guys. I’d like to say a special thanks to killer for sharing my page. 🙂
And as always, thanks to everyone who reads my blog. You guys are awesome! 🙂
Yep! This blog’s now been around for six years! I can’t believe it either. 😛
My life has changed a lot in the past several months. I quit my job last summer, and after some soul searching, I decided to go back to school. It’s taken some getting used to, but I’m starting to enjoy it.
I’m sure you’ve noticed, though, I haven’t written as much lately. I haven’t had time because of homework and projects. Good thing the semester’s almost over. 🙂
That doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about the blog. One of the classes I’m taking is Web Design, and as a personal project, I’m building a custom WordPress theme for season seven. I hope to finish it by the season premiere this fall.
As always, thank you for reading and supporting the blog. I’ve made mistakes over the years, but you’ve still stuck by me. I can’t even tell you how grateful I am.
Here’s to the rest of 2015 and beyond!
This week’s “Thursday Your Say” is about Winx Club‘s tenth anniversary.
As you know, Winx Club officially hit the decade mark on Tuesday (January 28). That’s a huge milestone. And the series is still going with season seven in production, the third CGI movie soon to premiere, and rumors of a live-action adaptation.
What do you think is fueling this success? Is that “fuel” still there?
YOUR SAY: Why do you think Winx Club has lasted for ten years?
January 28, 2004.
An Italian magical girl series debuts on the popular channel RAI2. Curious viewers watch as a sixteen-year-old redhead saves a blond fairy princess from an ogre, then follows her to another world to study magic. There, they meet three more fairies, and they all become inseparable friends. They name themselves the Winx Club.
Ten years later, the series is one of the most successful “girls’ shows” of all time. It airs in more than 130 countries and has spawned two (soon three) full-length movies, several theater shows, an ice show, tons of merchandise, a monthly magazine, a spin-off, and much more.
Happy 10th anniversary, Winx Club! May the magic continue!
QUESTION: When did you starting watching Winx Club? What are your memories of season one?
