I said if I decided to leave the Winx fandom, I’d say goodbye first. Well, this is goodbye.

I don’t feel like I belong here anymore. This used to be where I’d escape to whenever I was lonely. Now, this is where I feel the most alone. Every day, I feel more and more out of place and insignificant in the fandom.

Whenever I say anything these days, it feels like it’s me vs. the world. Some fans think I’m just being different to get attention, or I’m just playing Devil’s Advocate. If that were true, I would have stopped a long time ago because it’s not worth the flak I’ve gotten.

I feel like a freak. I know I’m not the only fan with unpopular opinions, but I feel dumb for not keeping mine to myself — and for caring so much about them. All I’ve done is made myself miserable.

I’m already an unhappy person in real life. I know that doesn’t surprise anyone. Piling on the loneliness and stress I feel every time I log into the fandom now isn’t helping my mood.

Detaching from my blog is gonna be hard. I started crying last night as I thought about it. I’ve put so much time, energy, and money into it over the past nine years. Maybe it’s already served its purpose, and my feelings are a sign I’m supposed to move on now.

Contrary to what some fans might believe, I haven’t lost interest in the show. I’m excited and curious about future seasons and movies, and I’ll still look up Winx Club news from time to time. But I’ve unsubscribed from the official YouTube channels and other fan-made channels I followed.

I haven’t decided if I’m leaving for a while or for good. It might depend on what happens in the show and to Winx as a brand in the next few years. This blog will still be accessible, and my social media accounts will stay open. I just won’t be active on them.

Thank you for following and supporting me all these years. This is the first fandom I’ve been participated heavily in. I’ve met a lot of interesting people, and I’ve learned a lot about myself and how these types of communities work.

I also feel like I’ve improved as a writer. Looking back at my early blog posts, it’s like I’m reading someone else’s words. Hopefully, I can use this experience to help me achieve the goals I’ve put off so long.

Goodbye, everyone. I hope you have a safe and Happy New Year.

What If Wednesday

The fanbase is obsessed with Winx Club‘s past, but like I said last November, I don’t wanna keep reminiscing. I wanna look toward the future. I don’t care what happened or could have happened — I wanna focus on what could happen. That’s what “What If Wednesday” is about.

In this new feature, I’ll look at the potential in the show as it is now. I’ll talk about ideas that haven’t been explored; think of ways Rainbow could develop certain characters, concepts, etc.; and try to come up new interpretations of old topics. Like with Thursday Your Say, you can suggest things for me to talk about, if you want to.

What will I not talk about? Any of the dead horses the fanbase loves to beat. You know what I mean:

  • What if [insert super-popular character] comes back?
  • What if the Winx have to fight [insert super-popular villain(s)] again?
  • What if the Winx revert to [insert the most popular transformation]?

Those topics may sound like they’re about the future, but they’re really part of the fanbase’s pining for the past. I don’t treat any time in Winx Club‘s history as ideal or the status quo. The show doesn’t need to regress. Rainbow just needs to use what’s in it now as well as possible. My posts will have ideas for how they could do that.

The first post will be about my favorite Specialist: Helia. He’s Flora’s boyfriend, he’s handsome and romantic — and he could become more powerful than anyone realizes. Stay tuned!

Winx Club 525 - Helia

Yep, I’ve been blogging about Winx Club for seven years now. I can’t believe it, either. 😛 A lot has happened — to the series and to me — but I still enjoy being a part of the Winx fanbase. I’m looking forward to the next few years with World of Winx, season eight, a new movie, and whatever else Rainbow has in the works.

Yesterday, I passed another milestone: 1,000 Likes on Facebook! Thank you so much, you guys. I’d like to say a special thanks to killer for sharing my page. 🙂

And as always, thanks to everyone who reads my blog. You guys are awesome! 🙂

Yep! This blog’s now been around for six years! I can’t believe it either. 😛

My life has changed a lot in the past several months. I quit my job last summer, and after some soul searching, I decided to go back to school. It’s taken some getting used to, but I’m starting to enjoy it.

I’m sure you’ve noticed, though, I haven’t written as much lately. I haven’t had time because of homework and projects. Good thing the semester’s almost over. 🙂

That doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about the blog. One of the classes I’m taking is Web Design, and as a personal project, I’m building a custom WordPress theme for season seven. I hope to finish it by the season premiere this fall.

As always, thank you for reading and supporting the blog. I’ve made mistakes over the years, but you’ve still stuck by me. I can’t even tell you how grateful I am.

Here’s to the rest of 2015 and beyond!

flora-enchantixLet me present Una di Noi Winx’s third writer: Flora Asia!

This Winx superfan grew up in Malaysia, is studying in Ireland, and will be moving to the UK, so he’s seen Winx Club‘s magic outside America. He’ll report the latest news and happenings from overseas and, of course, share his unique thoughts on the show.

Here’s a little about Flora Asia:

  • Favorite Winx: Flora! 😀
  • Favorite Specialist: Timmy. Brandon or Helia is a close second.
